ELECTED OFFICIALS TO BE RECOGNIZED BY THE TMLI

The City of Waxahachie is honored to announce that Mayor David Hill will be recognized for earning the Certified Municipal Official designation and Award of Excellence on March 15, at the Texas Municipal League Midyear Conference in San Marcos, Texas.

An elected official who completes 72 or more Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in one calendar year obtains the Certified Municipal Official designation. This state-required training covers topics including the Open Meetings Act and Public Information Act.

An Award of Excellence is earned when an elected official receives this recognition for five consecutive years. Additionally, the City of Waxahachie will receive an Award of Leadership as a result of Mayor Hill’s Award of Excellence accomplishment.

“It is gratifying to see our elected officials be recognized for their remarkable dedication and service to the Waxahachie community,” said City Manager Michael Scott. “The knowledge that this education provides is invaluable to our citizens.”

Councilmember Billie Wallace will also be recognized at the conference with a Certificate of Recognition for successful completion of 42 or more CEUs in a calendar year.
