Downtown Waxahachie has everything you need and more! There are over 120 businesses in
a 16 block area, making it convenient to get all of your shopping done while enjoying the
beautiful scenery in the historic downtown. You can find everything from antiques to clothing,
crafts to fine home furnishings, salons and barbershops, auto parts, and many unique gifts.
There are over a dozen restaurants serving a variety of delicious cuisines – enough to satisfy
any appetite or budget.
Downtown Waxahachie is also home to several events and festivals throughout the year. From
April to October, patrons enjoy fresh produce, baked goods, gourmet foods, and gifts at the
Downtown Farmer’s Market. The Farmer’s Market is open each Saturday from April to October
from 8am-1pm. The Annual Community Tree Lighting is sponsored by the City of Waxahachie
Main Street Program. It takes place the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick off the holidays

The new Downtown Building Improvement Program helps fund improvements to properties
located in the Downtown Historic Overlay District and the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ).
