The City of Waxahachie was recently informed that the contractor hired to construct the new community pool at Lee Penn Park has unexpectedly defaulted on their contract, and will no longer be able to complete the pool. Unfortunately, the pool will not be open for this summer’s swim season, but staff is working diligently to address the situation and get the project completed.
“We understand the impact that this situation has on the community, and we share the disappointment and apologize for the inconvenience. City staff and leadership is committed to delivering a community pool that you can be proud of, and we are making every effort to make that a reality. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work diligently to bring this fantastic new facility to completion,” said Michael Scott, City Manager.
